Scientific Drilling International is looking for a Global QHSE Manager to work in our Corporate Headquarters in The Woodlands, TX . Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide. Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world. Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for managing Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) activities across all global business units. Develop annual goals and objectives that improve Scientific Drilling's health, safety and environmental initiatives. Ensures compliance with federal, state and local safety laws, regulations, codes and rules and company/client requirements. Analyze and trend QHSE performance metrics and address resulting opportunities for improvement. Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting. Lead efforts to minimize and mitigate HSE risks throughout the organization. Establishes a culture of safety across the organization and works with stakeholders to implement and enforce safety policies and procedures. Develop QHSE management system training programs. Oversees and provide support during regulator and/or client audits, investigations, and routine inquiries. Oversee HSE incident investigations to determine causal factors, root causes, and appropriate corrective actions. Has overall responsibility for the continuous development of a comprehensive quality management strategy and supporting programs for SDI. Responsible for establishing and implementing consistent quality standards across all departments and coordinating as necessary with appropriate management to ensure compliance and continued improvement. Must collaborate and communicate effectively with management from all departments (Engineering, Sales, Operations, etc.) as well as with executive leadership to obtain necessary commitment/support/cooperation. Supports the development of a customer-focused quality culture within the organization. Leads, champions, sets priorities for and supports specific and ongoing performance improvement initiatives such as those aimed at improving product and service performance and service response times. Creates company-wide quality goals and meaningful metrics (KPIs) and works with senior functional leaders to ensure that function-specific quality measures supporting corporate targets are defined and implemented. Monitor and communicate quality goals and progress to the SDI Executive Team and functional leaders across key areas of the business. Monitors quality management standards and trends, benchmarking SDI quality practices and performance metrics against past performance as well as industry "standards" as possible. Act as a resource and mentor, providing input and training to staff designed to improve performance. May review deliverables and provide feedback to managers and teams. Supervisory Responsibilities Manages subordinate supervisor(s) who supervise employee(s); is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units. Also, may directly supervise non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, API Q2, and local regulations. Ability to professionally represent the Quality and HSE Departments with internal and external stakeholders. Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Ability to travel internationally, on a frequent basis. Reliable self-starter with a strong work ethic who is organized and able to effectively manage personnel. Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure. Attention to detail, consistency, and accuracy. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (required to speak to large groups). Ability to problem solve. High level of proficiency with Windows Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio. Experience as an instructor for training purposes. Working knowledge of HSE, ISO, IEC, ETSI, CEN, CENELEC, IsNetworld, SAP, Intelex, and TapRoot strongly preferred. Education, Experience, Certification & Training: Bachelor's Degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required. At least ten years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment required. Basic understanding of Oil & Gas industry is preferred. Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Work Environment, Physical Job Requirements & PPE: Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include are but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, telephone, and automobile. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed shoes, FRC coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
