Mission of the Position : As an Intermodal Safety Manager, you will ensure the safe and compliant operation of intermodal transportation, which involves the movement of cargo using multiple modes of transportation, such as trucks, trains, and ships. This individual will develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, programs, and procedures to ensure the safe handling, transport, and storage of cargo throughout the entire intermodal supply chain. The Position: Develop and implement safety policies and procedures, which may include safety manuals, standard operating procedures, and training, that comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Monitor compliance with safety regulations, including those set by regulatory agencies such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the Federal Railroad Administration, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Identify potential safety risks in intermodal operations and develop strategies to mitigate those risks by conducting risk assessments, analyzing data on accidents and incidents, and implementing corrective actions to address safety issues. Develop and deliver training programs on topics such as hazardous materials handling, transportation security, and emergency response for employees and contractors involved in intermodal operations to ensure that they are aware of safety policies, procedures, and best practices. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses in intermodal operations to determine the root causes and develop preventive measures. Monitor and analyze safety performance data, such as accident and incident reports, safety metrics, and trend analyses, to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for changes to safety policies and procedures. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to safety activities, such as incident reports, maintenance, safety training records, safety audits, and inspections. Collect and review of all reports and documentation necessary to qualify a driver Leasing and de-leasing. Manage Hours of Service Compliance including but not limited to training, monitoring, assisting owner operators and company drivers, as well as off-site locations, with HOS issues and concerns regarding hours driving and Form and manner. Collect, review and process various compliance items from drivers and off-site locations. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 3+ years of safety experience in the Intermodal / Drayage / Warehousing Industry required 2+ years of experience working with DOT files required Familiarity with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, hours of service, the ELD mandate, required driver qualification process, and driver qualification files and maintenance records required Excellent computer skills, to include MS applications and web-based applications Desired Skills and Competencies: Interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with drivers, peers, and upper management Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines Why work for RAJ's Delivery Enterprise?
