Townsen Memorial Hospital is looking for a full-time Pre-Op Registered Nurse to join our growing team at our facility in Humble, TX! RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures the pre-operative area has a clean and therapeutic environment for all patients at all times Ensures supplies and equipment needed are available and in good working order Admits the patient to the unit and prepares him/her for the scheduled procedure Makes initial assessment and determines the nursing needs of the patient, communicates additional discharge needs when applicable (transportation, durable medical equipment) Explains nursing procedures and actions taken to help reduce anxiety Identifies patient's physical and mental status Monitors the patient's medical condition and reports any significant changes to the admitting physician or anesthesiologist REQUIREMENTS: Nursing care for the pre-operative patient Operation of vital sign monitors Assessment skills A basic understanding of nursing diagnosis Principles of Standard Precautions IV Therapy Registered Nurse (active and unencumbered license) in the State of Texas BLS, PALS and ACLS (required) WORK WEEK : Monday -Friday 8 hour dayshift with variable rotating start times BENEFITS: 401(k) with employer contribution Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Short and Long Term Disability Insurance Employee Assistance Program PTO + Holidays About Townsen Memorial Townsen Memorial Hospital is a CIHQ-accredited surgical hospital that also has multiple outpatient departments in the Houston metropolitan area.
