Solar Mechanical Superintendent Summary The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for directing, planning, and managing the work for the mechanical scope to keep the project ahead of schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety polices. This includes updating work progress, managing labor costs, and coordinating subcontractor and self-perform work. Regular Job Duties Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace remains the top priority by partnering with the Safety department, Safety committee, and Project Management to support policies, procedures and practices for establishing a safe workplace. Control job progress by managing subcontractors, solving problems and conflicts, using proper documentation, quality control and safety control techniques on the job. Control self-perform team, sizing the project team and equipment in accordance to work needs, maintaining labor tracking and production. Oversee daily field productivity, labor control, quality control and scheduling to ensure accurate and updated construction schedules and budgets are being met. Responsible for coordinating deliveries to be dropped off at the designated yards, ensuring all material packing slips are accurate and material received is in accordance with the quality defined in the supply agreement. Responsible for inventory control, ensure material storage properly according to vendor requirements, and maintain tracking of the material check-out. Prevent deficiencies through pre-construction quality control inspection. Prevent rework, recognize any potential pattern of rework and develop solutions to eliminate it. Review tests and inspection reports submitted by inspector. Identifying non-confirming results and coordinating remedies and reparations. Inspect the work to establish a final punch list. Work with field and project management to address cost and schedule concerns. Take an active part in job start/job close meetings. Communicate regularly with Project Management to troubleshoot job challenges and update job status. Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures with field personnel and subcontractors. Know the key operational details of the subcontract and hold the subcontractor accountable to their agreement. Maintain and enforce discipline throughout the jobsite. Display leadership by being a good role model and striving to promote a positive attitude at all times. Always act in a professional manner. Other unlisted duties will be assigned. Job Requirements 5-10 years of experience in energy projects is preferred Considerable knowledge of mechanical construction tools, machinery methods and procedures Prior experience in successfully leading, mentoring, and training Field Teams Highly organized Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships Strong written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Understanding of construction methods, scheduling and blueprint reading Ability to write reports and internal and external correspondences. Ability to estimate and prepare change orders. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and a part of a team Detail-oriented Willing to travel OSHA Safety knowledge Moderate proficiency operating Primavera 6 CPM scheduling software, Procore and/or Blue Beam is highly preferred Moderate proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Some exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind.
