Job Title: Product Engineer (Drilling Tools) Prepared by: Engineering Manager (Drilling Tools) Department: Engineering Reports to: Regional Engineer (Drilling Tools) Basic Function: Generating and checking procedural well analyses to convey product benefits. Engineering designs, testing, or field demonstration of products. Communicating with customers or vendors to achieve internal or external demands. Support field activities including troubleshooting and investigation reports. Creating technical reports or improving company procedures. Responsibilities: Training program includes familiarization with drilling practices, software analysis, and multiple visits to drilling rigs. Perform analyses of drilling products. Conduct and assist in training and continuing education of coworkers. Participation in the invention, design, analysis, prototyping, shop testing, field testing of new products and improvements to existing products. Investigate any field failures, prepare reports, define product improvements. Contribute to manufacturing process improvement. Effective and efficient communication within company and to customers and vendors. Build and sustain positive cooperative working relationships. Assist in maintaining and or writing QA/QC procedures. 80-90% of time is in office environment, and travel may be 10-20%, including internationally. Visit drilling rig for 5-15 days in the event of field failure or introduction of new product. Must qualify to obtain a passport. Safely and comfortably operate test equipment such as 100 klb compression tests. Must be able to lift 50 lb. Skills: Interpersonal: Customer Service Diplomacy and Professionalism Personal: Organization Planning and Time Management Oral, Written and Technical Communication Technical Skills: Mechanics of Materials Computer Literacy 3D Drafting GD&T (SolidWorks) Math Aptitude Analytical Ability Education/Training: BS Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum or Chemical Engineer with GPA 2.5 or greater English/Spanish language fluency Experience: 0 years of minimum
