This position will implement and support the Avondale House School ABA program. Avondale House has been serving individuals with autism since 1976. Job Duties: Coordinates, develops and writes BIP/IEP's for students. Monitors data profiles of student behavior and academic performance with staff. Collaborates with related service providers to train staff in implementing Functional Communication Training, OT/PT skills and others as determined by ARD. Attends admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) meetings when appropriate, prepares written reports as requested, and provides telephone consultation as needed. Works with in-house team of Education Specialist, BCBA, RBTs and BCBA-Interns, teachers and teaching assistants to provide a highly structured learning environment for students. Participates in quarterly reviews and annual IEP meetings as appropriate. Participates in review processes of all outside agencies, training personnel as needed, in preparation of reviews. Serves as the liaison with local colleges and universities in their placement of practicum students and BCBA interns providing on-site supervision and support. Works with staff throughout Avondale House to meet the needs of each student. Requirements BCBA and LBA Required. Master's degree required. Working knowledge of standards set forth by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Autism specialization and behavior training essential. Patient, authoritative personality. Valid Driver's License. Physical Requirements: Ability to implement CPI, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand on your feet for 2-3 hours at a time.
