Endoscopy Technician

Description:
Townsen Memorial Hospital is looking to hire a full-time Endoscopy Technician for our facility in Houston, TX! This position will be r esponsible for scrubbing in and assisting the physician in all cases. After completion of each case, the technologist will be on standby for sterile technician needs which include decontamination, preparation packaging sterilization, and sterile storage. RESPONSIBILITIES: Organizes the workflow, problem solves and manages multiple ongoing priorities Identifies and follows manufactures instructions to sort, disassemble, decontaminate, rinse and disinfect instrumentation, flexible scopes, and equipment Adheres to the proper handling of garbage, linen, and biohazardous materials Facilitates room turnovers Follows manufacturers recommendations for sterilization methods Properly handles sterile product and ensures stock is places in the proper location Consistently makes rounds through the operating rooms and confirms instrumentation needs are met Troubleshoots problems and repairs REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of medical terminology Demonstrates strong knowledge of sterile techniques related to operating room preparation and procedures Formal training as operating room technician or Endoscopy Technician (preferred) Clinical experience as Operating Room Technician or Endoscopy Technician (preferred) Current BLS BENEFITS: Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Short and Long Term Disability Insurance Employee Assistance Program PTO + Holidays 401(k) with employer contribution About Townsen Memorial Townsen Memorial Hospital is a CIHQ-accredited surgical hospital that also has multiple outpatient departments in the Houston metropolitan area.
