Townsen Memorial Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse Operating Room Circulator for our surgery cennter in Kingwood,TX ! The ideal candidate must have effective listening and critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care in an effective and efficient manner and while safely caring for their patients. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and updates plan of care in partnership with patient and family using the nursing process, incorporating the patient priorities and abilities Follows the nursing processes, modifies care based on continuous evaluation of the patient's condition Plans for routine events and anticipates/prevents and manages/elevates emergent situations Reports near misses as errors promptly and consistently to improve systems and processes to identify trends Manages usual patient assignments and other area demands Addresses patient needs during admission to the operating room Prepares operating room according to requirements of patient/procedure being done Supervises and direct patent care in a single operating room Assists with identification and confirmation of operative sight Completes patient care responsibilities in a timely manner with accurate documentation Organizes multiple priorities and anticipates/plans for potential problems Assists in ensuring supplies and equipment are available for use Monitors efficient room turnover Maintains continuous communication with schedulers to help solve scheduling problems and/or operating room utilization REQUIREMENTS: Nursing care for Intra-Operative patients Operation of vital sign monitors Assessment skills 1 year experience OR (required) 1 year experience in Intra-Operative Care (preferred) Ortho/Spine Experience (preferred) Registered Nurse in the State of Texas Current BLS, ACLS and PALS About Townsen Memorial Hospital Townsen Memorial Hospital is a CIHQ-accredited surgical hospital that also has multiple outpatient departments in the Houston metropolitan area.
