Industrial HVAC Tech (Temp-to-Hire) Location: Houston, TX 77073 Shift: 7:00 am -4:00 pm schedule with some weekends and OT as needed Pay: Based on experience -max $34.00 The HVAC/R Technician utilizes their strong mechanical and electrical skills to provide an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration-related equipment in an industrial environment. Provides instruction and assistance to other technicians as needed. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance to a wide variety of facility and process related equipment. Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and ventilation equipment, rooftop AHU’s, split systems, pumps, fans, chillers, freezers, coolers and refrigerators, dryers, compressors, and other mechanical equipment as necessary. Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance. Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag-out procedures and wearing PPE as required. Experience working with Single & 3 phase power, network cable runs, ballast lighting, and bending conduit. Knowledge of heavy machinery including forklift, overhead crane, JIB crane excavator, bulldozer, skid steer, tractors, vehicle maintenance, and hydraulic systems. Plumbing experience including PVC, PEX, and Copper piping systems, pump replacement, water well operation, clog removal, and pressure washing. Experienced in welding, torch/ plasma cutting, and manual machines including lathe and mill. Ability to perform general maintenance including painting, drywall, and insulating. Maintains a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required. Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor. High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent. EPA Universal certification required. Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher. This position may require overtime, various shifts, weekends, holidays, and alternative work schedules.
