The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to state and local tax law and demonstrate an interest in working for a multi-state tax practice, providing support to lawyers in all offices. The position requires a high level of academic achievement, as well as strong research, writing, and communication skills.Duties:Assist in state and local tax matters, including tax planning, compliance, and controversy.Conduct legal research on state and local tax issues and prepare memoranda and opinions.Draft and review legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and tax filings.Support attorneys across multiple offices with state and local tax-related projects.Communicate with clients, tax authorities, and other stakeholders regarding tax matters.Stay updated on changes in state and local tax laws and regulations.Requirements:0-3 years of experience in state and local tax law.Strong commitment to practicing state and local tax law.High level of academic achievement from an accredited law school.Admission to the State Bar of Texas or eligibility for admission.Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:None specified.Skills:Knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations.Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and accuracy in legal drafting.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
