.Job title: Space Suit Sewing Technician Job Summary The Space Suit Sewing Technician is responsible for the skilled crafting of space suit components using specialized sewing techniques and industrial equipment. They will fabricate, assemble, and repair soft-goods while adhering to precise specifications and safety standards. Even Simpler: This person sews parts of space suits together using big sewing machines. They have to be very good at following detailed instructions so that astronauts can stay safe in their suits.Related Job Titles: Industrial Sewing Machine Operator Fabrication Technician Assembly Technician Textile AssemblerSkill Requirements Must-Have: Industrial Sewing Machines operation proficiency including Straight Stitch, Walking Foot, Bartack, Buttonhole, and 3 Thread Rolled Hem Serger Proficiency in Soft-goods Fabrication including reading and interpreting Assembly Drawings Skilled in creating accurate soft-good Patterns Fabrication Experience with detailed hand sewing and machine sewing to precise tolerances Ability to cut materials accurately according to specific measurementsPreferred: Previous experience sewing for space flight programs or aerospace applicationsPay Details: $30.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
