MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for an Avionics Network Engineer on the JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration. As an Avionics Network Engineer you will: Design the distributed network architecture for the Gateway Modular Spacecraft. Perform Requirements Development and Management. Perform Verification Testing. Perform other tasks assigned. Here's What You'll Need: Requisition Qualifications: Desired Education/Experience/Skills: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in arelated area. Experience with either Avionic Electrical or Software Systems Design. Experience with the following major spacecraft systems and disciplines: Propulsion Thermal ECLSS Power Electrical Systems Thorough knowledge of Computer Networking technology, such as: IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet) standards ARINC 664 Part 7 Aircraft Data Network Full-Duplex Switched Ethernet Networks SAE AS 6802 Time Triggered Standard Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) Hardware Cabling Standards Experience with: Network Design Network Management Tools IT Security Network Troubleshooting Techniques Familiarity with commercial products available in computer networking technology. Ability to interpret network data captures, such as pcap files. Requisition Preferences: Time Triggered Ethernet (TTE) experience. Experience with Time Triggered systems such as TDMA. Fault tolerance/reliability experience. Experience with spacecraft avionics and circuit design or analysis. Experience applying computer network technology in space systems. Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position. Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation. Equipment and Machines Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.). Attendance Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements. Other Essential Functions Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.As we are a Federal Contractor, most positions require the employee to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government background investigation.
