We have a 30-kennel facility in Magnolia TX and have a need for a full-time manager.Vet tech with grooming or dog training skills preferred but not necessary if you have experience with dogs. Extensive rescue experience or shelter experience considered. Social media and computer skills a plus (we use Shelterluv software).This is a very hands-on, labor-intensive job.Duties: Ensure the cleanliness of the kennel, including indoor kennel area, outdoor runs, office, food prep area, and outside grounds including mowing until volunteers can be trained to help in these areas to free up the manager for other duties. Volunteer recruitment and training.Feeding of animalsBeing able to successfully manage quarantine area and move dogs into and out of quarantine as neededManaging the veterinary needs of the dogs and possibly getting them to and from the vetMonitor and record important information about the animals’ conditions, behavior and habits for adoptabilityMeet with prospective adopters to ensure a good fit for adoptionHelp take photos of the animals in our care and network them for adoption and posting to PetFinder and our Facebook page. Work with volunteers to ensure this is done.Ensuring the animals have daily play time in the dog yard, work with volunteers to ensure this is metCoordination of all volunteer activities and assigning tasks to volunteers and volunteer trainingMaintain laundry throughout the day and keep laundry area neat by delegating to volunteers as needed.Monitor and maintain the kennel inventory to include food, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, etc.Onboarding and training of volunteers and delegating tasks as appropriatePerform other duties as assignedResponsibilities / Qualifications:High School diploma or GED preferred.Night and weekend hours as neededMust have computer skillsMust possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations in a fast-paced environment.Must have the physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment.Must be able to lift 40+ lbs. Dog food, etc.Previous experience in animal welfare necessaryThe job is full time location is Magnolia TX.
